The 500 Internal Server Error code is a server-side error code. These problems can generally be issues with the website’s programming and coding not performing actions correctly. A common reason for this is increased web traffic that surpasses a website server’s current bandwidth.
The 504 Gateway Timeout is a similar connection error code. This code means that the website did not receive a timely response from the internet server that is trying to access it.
Even though these error codes report an error outside your control, there is still a chance it can be a problem on your end. There are a few ways you can troubleshoot these issues.
The easiest solution to try is to refresh and reload the page. Depending on your computer and operating system, you can do this in several ways: press the refresh/load button, press F5, or press Ctrl R.
Clearing your browser’s browsing data (cache) might also help resolve this issue. This is because the excess data stored can interfere with browser processes. If you do not know how to do this, please refer to your browser’s website for instructions on how to do so. If you are on a PC, then you can use the shortcut Ctrl F5 to refresh your page and clear your browsing data.
If these do not work, then restart all of your network devices. Sometimes your modem or router could be having difficulties communicating with each other, which can also cause the 504 Gateway.
