We know color/density is everything to any photo enthusiast! Making sure that every photo has the right tone or shift is crucial. If you do not have a calibrated monitor or a calibration system, do not worry! Here at Nations Photo Lab, we are happy to offer Color Corrections to make sure your photo prints in the best possible tone.
Have you ever watched the same movie on a bank of monitors at a store like Best Buy? The colors and brightness are always different even though it's the same movie... those same differences happen between computer monitors.
Our color experts evaluate and adjust your images to correct lighting, environment, exposure, color shifts, and subject matter detail. They review each image's density, color tones, contrast, and saturation. Our goal is to achieve true-to-life skin tones, natural saturation levels, and a good balance of density, with detail in the highlight and shadow areas.
For example, we try to remove any obvious casts seen in certain lighting situations, such as an outdoor shadowed environment. A family photo under a tree can tend to look cooler when captured. We can adjust the image to look warmer and more vibrant by adding yellow, red, and saturation.
We will adjust each image to print at its best potential!
Please note, Color Corrections affect the image as a whole, rather than specific elements within a photo. If you need spot corrections such as teeth whitening, blemish removal, glass glare removal, skin softening, red-eye removal, etc., please check out our Photoshop help center article.
We guarantee your complete 100% satisfaction for orders submitted with Color Corrections. If you are not amazed, simply let us know your concerns, and we will readjust your image(s) with any additional desired edits and reprint at no cost to you!
*Nations Photo Lab cannot guarantee orders submitted without Color Corrections. Orders submitted without Color Corrections are placed directly into production with no review, to be produced as is. Therefore, non-color corrected orders are not covered by our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee*
Suppose you are a professional with a calibrated monitor and have calibration software like x-rite or Spyder. In that case, you have the option to soft proof your images using our ICC profiles! If you do soft proof using our ICC profiles, Color Corrections do not need to be applied to your order.
Lastly, we have included a guide that runs through the standard Color Correction Vocabulary below.
Special notes:
Flattened Templates / Album / Photobooks:
Any color adjustments will affect all images and background colors, as a whole, on designed pages made in a program outside of our ordering software. Therefore, we will only adjust the density, contrast, and saturation.
Instagram Photos / Photos with Filters:
For those that are adding special edits, adjustments, and/or filters, our Color Correction gurus have been advised to adjust images with "effects" for the best density and saturation only to preserve your intended vision for the final product.

Good grief! I now ordered my pictures another time--with color corrections. And, again, they were printed much too dark. I even left a specific request to not have them printed too dark. For some reason, when I ordered 4x6 prints from Snapfish (for 9c a print), they looked fine. When I spend $2.68 at National Photo Lab, they're unusable.

Similar to Bal, my order also came out much too dark for my liking (I did not pay for color correction though). I've order from Walgreens and costco and have not had this issue before. Possibly the difference is that my order from Nations was lustre instead of glossy, but I suspect that does not account for just how dark my prints are.
Hi Kyle,
Thank you for contacting Nations Photo Lab! I'm very sorry to hear you felt your prints arrived much too dark. Orders that are submitted without our color correction service are sent to production to be printed as-is without any review. Whereas color corrected orders are reviewed by our technicians before heading into production.
However, I appreciate you reaching out! I definitely want you to be satisfied with your order and photo prints.
Our team would be more than happy to review your order and assist you regarding your concerns. I am having trouble locating your account and want to ensure we have the correct order details. Could you fill out our contact form with your account and order details?
